Story of BoCo

BOCO VOLLEYBALL CLUB

Our Story

The story of BoCo Volleyball Athletic Club is one that started as a dream and soon became a reality. For as long as she can remember, Owner and Director Tatum McKenzie, has always envisioned running a club organization in Longmont for both girls and boys; one that is highly organized and combines quality coaching with great communication, smaller teams, scholarship opportunities for those who struggle to afford the option to play, and to contribute to a community she loves.

Tatum has always had a passion for young athletes and believes in the importance of supporting those kids in all aspects of their lives by teaching them the purpose of applying strong work ethics, setting and achieving goals, overcoming fears, being strong leaders and teammates, and taking on challenges in their lives.

In 2016 when she took the head coaching position at Silver Creek High School, she soon learned that there was a great need for a local volleyball club that would not only train athletes on critical fundamentals and skill, but also allow those who could not afford to play at the club level the opportunity to participate through scholarships.

BoCo was founded in 2018, starting with just 5 teams the first club season and growing to 11 teams by 2019. Now, Tatum along with an amazing staff of coaches, are excited to expand with our growth into the future! Our immediate goal is to build our very own practice facility and sports complex in the Longmont area that will ultimately allow for training and practices that will elevate our athletes and families and maximize time in the gym. We are eager to expand our reach to competitive players across the Northern Colorado area!
